No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate
Last updated: July 10, 2026
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must give clients who don't have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
What This Means for You
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency health care services, including psychotherapy.
- You can ask Katie Pace Counseling and Consulting for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
- Your Good Faith Estimate will be provided in writing at least one business day before your first scheduled service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
Current Session Fees
- Individual sessions: $120
- Couples sessions: $120
- Sliding scale options: $30 – $90 per session
Your personalized Good Faith Estimate will reflect the fee agreed upon for your care and the expected frequency and duration of services.
